"Pokemon Meets Neopets"

Pokeathlon is an 18+ rated Art-based Roleplaying Group discord server. This is not an original character tournament, but rather an art-driven group set within the world of Pokemon with inspiration from Virtual Pet websites such as Neopets, Lioden, and Flight Rising. You will be able to customize your Pokemon's appearance and abilities using "Genetics" while also navigating your character(s) through an engaging story as it unfolds.
While there are rules and restrictions, we still like to think of ourselves as a relatively lax group focusing on the growth and development of your characters through calculated plot points. We will provide prompts in order to advance your character further, however the exact path your character will follow completely up to you!
Initially, you will be allotted 1 trainer and 1 non-legendary pokemon of your choice. However, you will be able to increase those numbers periodically through various events.

This group combines the Pokeathlon concept [Pokemon: Heartgold / Pokemon:Soulsilver] with it’s in-real-life counterpart The Summer Olympic Games!
Overview:
Over the last 30 years the World of Pokemon has grown exponentially. Because of the advancements in technology, pokemon have become more integrated into an otherwise-human society than ever before! Gone are the days were Pokemon Trainers were the only ones raising pokemon, now almost everyone has a partner pokemon in their pocket.
In recent years, the demand for DESIGNER pokemon has skyrocketed.
Due to the nature of Pokemon's unstable DNA, scientists have discovered that you can manipulate a Pokemon's DNA sequences to express more desirable traits. Booster Corp, research company leading the charge, has already found a way to allow trainers to make simple modifications to their pokemon at an affordable price!
This year's Pokeathlon Games are expected to be much more colorful than years past, as it's the first year these Genes by Booster Corp have been on the market.

“Goldenrod City is the largest city in the Johto Region, located on the east coast of Johto's mainland. This city boasts iconic locations including the Goldenrod Underground, the Radio Tower and the Global Trade Terminal which allows you to trade various pokemon. The city also houses the Johto Department Store and the Magnet Train, which connects to Saffron City, Kanto.”

Hotel Giovonni
Participants of this year’s Pokeathlon are compensated with free living arrangements at The Hotel Giovonni. Every guest is provided with one large room, a single queen-sized bed [unless otherwise specified], small kitchen, walk-in-closet, and bathroom. Room service is complimentary, but guests are expected to pay for food and drink.

Goldenrod Department Store
This deluxe shopping center offers five different floors featuring a variety of shops for all your training needs. The ground floor features a food court with international cuisine, and the rooftop cafe provides a vibrant social atmosphere.

Global Trade Station
This building is where trainers gather to trade pokemon as well as breeding tips and tricks. The building features a Move Tutor, Name Rater and Breeding Center. The Breeder’s Cup is on display here for this year's Pokeathlon.

Game Corner
This large casino is the CenterPoint for adult entertainment. Entrants must be at least 18 years of age to enter the casino and 21+ to enter the bar area. The Game Corner offers a variety of games, a bar and fine dining. The space is sometimes rented out for high profile events.

The Radio Tower
Goldenrod City broadcasts a variety of radio programs nationwide. Celebrities have been know to make appearances for interviews, and live bands occasionally perform at the base. Tune into W.O.O.100 Radio for all the latest and greatest Pokeathlon News.

National Park
Located just north of the metropolitan area is the bustling National Park. This green environment is great for people and pokemon to escape from the city. Play with your pokemon, have a picnic, and participate in seasonal events here at National Park.

Pokeathlon Dome
The Pokeathlon Dome is where the majority of this year’s Pokeathlon Events will take place. This pokemon stadium features adaptive terrain for this year's showcase, as well as thousands of seats for our audience. Athletes may train here with their pokemon when the events are not in session.

Magnet Train
The Magnet Train provides safe and reliable travel between Goldenrod City, Johto and Saffron City, Kanto. Card holders can travel between each region in less than one hour! Special departures offing Breakfast, Lunch, and Dinner run at 10am, 2pm, and 6pm respectively.

Goldenrod Beach
Located on the western edge of the city is an expansive beach for rest and relaxation. Don’t be fooled though, the day be warm but the water is almost always chilly. Swimmers and surfers are advised to wear wetsuits, but standard bathing gear is acceptable for average beach-goers.

Goldenrod Underground
Unlike the Goldenrod Department Store, the Underground is home to many small businesses and vendors. This farmer’s market provides many different goods and services to the citizens of Goldenrod City including fresh produce and pokemon chow. There’s a bulletin board which features many odd jobs that citizens can complete for small rewards.
